Frequently Asked Questions

Do you make everything in-house?

Yes—we do. From our pastries and breads to our sauces, dressings, and brunch dishes, everything at Finestkind is made from scratch in our kitchen. We believe that starting with real, thoughtfully prepared ingredients makes all the difference in flavor, quality, and consistency.

Do you take reservations?

We do not take reservations. We’re a walk-in only restaurant, and guests are welcome to arrive anytime during service. Just come in, place your order at the counter, and find a seat—we’ll take care of the rest.

What do you mean by “counter-service brunch restaurant with the touches of a full table service restaurant"?

It means you order at the counter when you arrive, then take a seat wherever you’d like. We’ll bring your food and drinks directly to your table, and take care of anything else you need during your visit. You’ll also receive a number so we can track your order—no buzzer, no returning to the counter, and when you're are done just get up, leave we do the clean up for you. It’s a simple system that lets us keep things fast, fresh, and still very attentive.

What happens if your dining room is full?

Things tend to move pretty fast around here, so wait times are typically pretty minimal. But if you are in a hurry we can always package your food for take out! We are located right next to Riverfront Park that has ample seating overlooking the scenic Saco river with picnic tables and Adirondack chairs.

How does seating work?

Seating is first-come, first-served, but you’ll need to place your order at the counter first—if we’re busy, that means joining the line before grabbing a seat.

We have a small dining room and do not hold tables. If all seats are taken, we may ask guests to wait briefly or to share space as things open up.

Large parties may need to split up, and we have one larger table that comfortably seats up to 6 adults. If that table is in use, groups can either wait for it or be seated separately.

We appreciate your patience—this system helps us keep things moving quickly and fairly for everyone.

Do you have coffee and baked goods?

Yes—both are a big part of what we do. Our pastry case is stocked daily with house-made pastries like donuts, muffins, cinnamon buns, and other seasonal baked goods, all made from scratch in our kitchen.

We also have a full coffee and espresso program, serving everything from classic drip coffee to carefully crafted espresso drinks throughout the day. We proudly serve Tandem Coffee and Harney & Sons Fine Tea.

Whether you’re stopping in for a quick coffee, grabbing something sweet, or sitting down for brunch, the bakery and coffee bar are not to be missed.

Are you dog friendly?

While we love our furry friends, we do not allow them on the patio or in the restaurant unless they are a service animal!

Can you accommodate my allergy?

Most of the time, yes! We do our very best to accommodate allergies, and take them very seriously. But on occasion, as a direct result of the modest size of our kitchen, prep space, and singular pastry case, we may not be able to accommodate the most severe allergies. We make all of our desserts and breads in house, so gluten, egg, dairy, peanuts and tree nuts are always on hand.  If you have any concerns, just chat with one of our front of house staff members before placing your order, or drop us an email!

Don't be shy, say hi! We'd love to hear from you.
